Olympia Parks and Recreation has a scholarship fund for their recreational programs. Funding is available to cover 25-100% (up to $250 yearly) of the cost for youth programs. Funding is available to cover 25-75% (up to $100 yearly) for adults. Applicants must meet DSHS Family Income Guidelines to be eligible. Assistance is dependant on available funds. Call to apply.

State Theater – Harlequin Productions :

“Pay What You Can Night”:
The State Theater has, as they say, Real. Live. Theater. The first Wednesday of each performance run is “pay what you can” night. Tickets go on sale at noon in the box office, two tickets can be issued per person in person. To see a list of season offerings, log on to http://www.harlequinproductions.org

Washington Center for the Performing Arts:

Ushering:
The Washington Center for the Performing Arts hosts many cultural events, ranging from improv comedy, to concerts of various genres, to dance. It is possible to see shows here for free by volunteering to be an usher. Usher training happens once a month during the season (season starts in September). Must be over 18. Must also be able to schedule your nights 2 months in advance, and be able to commit to two nights a month.

The Y offers many programs, classes, and exercise opportunities. They also offer financial assistance for their programs. An application is available in their office.

Hands-On Children’s Museum:

The Hands On Children's Museum stimulates curiosity, creativity and learning through fun, interactive exhibits and programs for children, families and school groups. If your family is unable to afford a Museum membership, you may qualify for a Free or Reduced Membership if you are:
-Receiving Food Stamps
-Receiving Aid to Dependent Children
-Eligible for Free or Reduced Free Lunch Program
-Receiving any other form of public assistance
-Having difficult financial circumstances
Memberships are good for up to six months and may be renewed. Simply ask for a Sponsored Membership form at the front desk.
